Still Beautiful

Sometimes life is beautiful,
Sometimes life is difficult.
Sometimes you want to sing,
Sometimes you want to shout.
I’m in extraordinary pain
Life doesn’t always align
with your expectations.
But the path you choose
is the path you must walk.
Smile, cry, shed tears
Life unfolds based on your choices.
Yet, how much longer
must I endure this pain?
How much longer can I hold on,
before I am free to sing once more?
My body is shaking
My eyes are leaking
I am in extraordinary pain.
Throughout the night,
I am awakened,
Sleep avoids me
Sleep seems to disappear
Flashbacks are back
And now, I miss my dad.
I am weary but still alert,
Still in the grip of extraordinary pain.
However, life remains beautiful,
despite its challenges.
